Evidence of intraneuronal Aβ accumulation preceding tau pathology in the entorhinal cortex.

This report looks potentially important in (more) firmly establishing the sequence of events during the accumulation of Abeta in the human brain during aging. This group analyzed "extremely high-quality post-morten brain material obtained from non-demented subjects with a short post-mortem interval", and reported that age-dependent intraneuronal accumulation of soluble Abeta is pervasive in the entorhinal cortex and hippocampus", and that this occurs *before* the deposition of (extracellular?) Abeta plaques and tau NFT.
